Femtec Scholarship I Telekom Careers Blog
Femtec scholarship holders on tour at Telekom headquarters
As part of the Femtec Career Building Program, 20 female STEM students exchanged ideas with Telekom experts. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to securing Telekom's infrastructure and its customers at the Cyber Defense Center.
Twenty Femtec scholarship recipients visited the Telekom headquarters in Bonn and met with female experts at the World Café, who provided information on topics such as AI, strategy, networks, and sustainability. However, the focus was also on questions about the personal careers of the Speakers: How did you get started at Telekom, what experiences have you had at the company, and what opportunities for development are there?
A highlight of their program was an afternoon visit to Telekom's Cyber Defense Center. There, the scholarship recipients gained exciting insights into the technologies and processes necessary to reliably protect Telekom's infrastructure and its customers' data.
In direct conversation with the center's experts, the students also learned about the innovative security solutions Telekom is developing to meet the growing challenges in cyber security. In addition, the visit provided an excellent opportunity to network professionally, exchange ideas with others on current topics in the technology industry and get to know Telekom better as a versatile and attractive employer.
The international career platform Femtec supports women in preparing specifically for a (management) career in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology. Telekom has been working closely with the Femtec Career Building Program for many years and is committed to ensuring that female talent receives a fair share of STEM professions. Every year, around 100 STEM scholarship holders complete the 1.5-year program. Many of them then take advantage of the excellent entry and development opportunities at Telekom – from internships to trainee positions.
