Femtec Scholars attending a Telekom Cyber Security Workshop
As part of the Femtec Career Building Program, 25 female STEM students were given an exclusive opportunity to get to know Telekom up close and engage intensively with current topics in digital security.
The international career platform Femtec prepares women for a management career in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology. Telekom has been a long-standing partner of the Femtec Career-Building Program for many years and is committed to ensuring a fair share of female talent in STEM professions.
Every year, 165 female STEM scholarship holders complete the 1.5-year Career-Building Program. After completing the Femtec program, many of them take advantage of the excellent entry-level and development opportunities at Telekom, from internships to trainee positions.
Twenty-five Femtec scholarship recipients attended the workshop “Defending the Digital World: Fighting Hate, Phishing, and Fake News” at Deutsche Telekom in Berlin. In an interactive exchange with experts from Telekom, they gained insights into the company's initiatives “Against Hate on the Internet” and against Phishing and Fake News. The focus was not only on the technical and legal aspects of these topics, but also on corporate social responsibility and how we at Telekom live up to this responsibility.
In the afternoon, there was an exchange with Femtec's partner companies* at TU Berlin. The scholarship holders gained insights into entry-level opportunities at Telekom, focusing on internships, student jobs, and the award-winning trainee program.
The visit to the workshop and the Telekom booth gave the Femtec scholarship holders an opportunity to expand their professional networks, discuss topics related to the technology industry, and better understand Telekom as an attractive and versatile employer.
*In addition to Deutsche Telekom, Femtec's partners include Enbw, Procter&Gamble, Eon, Fraunhofer Institute, RWTH Aachen University, University of Stuttgart, University of Bonn, TU Berlin, TU Dresden, and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
