More guidance, less effort: What’s behind the “Best Fit selection process”?

Cagla: Best Fit is the heart of our selection process. Together, we look at your interests, strengths, and potential to determine which career path suits you best. This means you don’t have to immediately commit to a specific apprenticeship or degree program when applying. Through our “Open Application,” you can also apply generally for an apprenticeship or dual study program at Telekom.

Why is career orientation part of the selection process?

Cagla: We have noticed that more and more young people find it difficult to choose the right apprenticeship or degree program. That’s why we want to specifically support and provide guidance - as our motto says: Show us who you are, and we’ll tell you what fits you!

Who is Best Fit for?

Cagla: Best Fit is designed for everyone looking for the right career entry. We support both undecided individuals in their career orientation and those who already have a career focus. Everyone receives their results from the selection process along with a recommendation for the best career entry. This way, all applicants can review their decision, gain confidence, or find orientation if they are still unsure.

I’m still undecided—how can I use Best Fit?

Cagla: All our current apprenticeship and study programs can be found on our career page. There are two options: Interested candidates can either apply directly for a specific apprenticeship or dual study spot, or they can use the “Open Application” option and apply without choosing a specific apprenticeship or degree program.

By the way: We do not require a cover letter! Your latest report card and a short CV are enough to apply.

What can I expect during the selection process?

Cagla: After you successfully upload your application, you will receive an invitation to our online test the next day. This test takes about 90 minutes and includes an interests test, a cognitive ability test, and a personality test. You take this online test not only for us but also for yourself and your career orientation because at the end of the test you’ll receive an individual overview of your personal interests, strengths, and potential, as well as recommendations from our career and study program portfolio.

In a personal interview on-site, we will discuss your results together and see which professions or degree programs suit you best. If there is a suitable Best Fit, the acceptance can be given directly during the interview - this creates clarity quickly and provides a reliable perspective.

After completing the selection process, there is a Business Match where you can personally meet your future team and business area. In a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, you’ll get insights into your future workday and experience Telekom’s culture firsthand.

Cagla: Yes, we suggest your top 3 suitable apprenticeships or degree programs based on your individual interests and strengths.

Cagla: It’s not quite that simple, as we rely on thorough diagnostics. Therefore, I recommend you first complete the online test. It not only gives you exciting insights into your strengths and interests but also forms the basis for us to advise you individually and find the right career entry together.
