David, when was the moment you knew: I want to make a change?

David: It wasn’t a single moment - more of a process. After years as a Solution Designer, I realized: there’s still more possible. The “Talent Journey,” a Telekom development program, opened my eyes. It was all about leaving your comfort zone - and that really struck a chord with me.

How did you approach the change?

David: With a lot of energy and openness. I searched internally for roles, wrote applications, and held conversations. Of course, not everything works out right away - but every experience helped me grow.

And then came that phone call …

David: Exactly. A recruiter reached out and recommended an internal position to me. I was surprised - I thought that only happened at the leadership level. Suddenly, it was about me. That really motivated me.

What helped you most during that phase?

David: The personal support. The recruiter guided me through the process, answered my questions, and connected me with the department. That was new for me - and honestly, really great.

You were part of a new career process. How does it work?

David: It’s simple: the platform matches skills with open roles. The recruiter entered my skills and found me. It saves time and brings the right people together.

How did it feel when you got the offer?

David: Fantastic! It shows that commitment and openness pay off. Every application was a step in the right direction.

What do you do today?

David: I’m responsible for Telekom’s “data highway” - the networking of operations sites, mobile locations, and data centers. I learn something new every day. That’s exactly what I was looking for: getting out of my comfort zone.

Your advice for anyone considering their next step?

David: Stay curious, make connections, and use the opportunities available to you. Every experience moves you forward - and sometimes the door opens precisely when you’re ready to walk through it.
