Between structure and spontaneity: Sophia’s everyday work

Sophia, what exactly do you do at Telekom today?
I work at the Telekom Shop in Dresden and mainly advise business customers. My goal is to resolve even complex requests quickly and find the right solutions.

How did you join Telekom?
In 2009, I started my apprenticeship here as a retail sales specialist. Since then, I’ve been able to continuously develop my career – from deputy shop manager to qualifying as a business customer expert.

Sophia lives with ADHD and autism. For her, this means perceiving stimuli more intensely and processing information very quickly. What can sometimes be challenging becomes a strength at work: when dealing with complex customer requests, she works with great focus, quickly recognizes connections, and stays with the task until a solution is found.

“My mind needs variety, but also clear structures – and that’s exactly what I find in my everyday work here,” she says.

Diversity as a strength – and why you can be yourself here

Neurodiversity shows that different ways of thinking lead to new solutions. At Telekom, people with different perspectives work together – supported by networks, open exchange, and initiatives that respond to individual needs.

For Sophia, being able to speak openly about what she needs is key: “If I need a short moment of quiet, it helps me return to my work fully focused afterwards.”

We want to create a working environment where you can contribute your strengths and continue to grow – whether you are starting an apprenticeship, beginning your career, or taking the next step.
