New Femtec cohort kicks off in Berlin | Telekom Careers Blog

Students from RWTH Aachen University, the University of Bonn, Technische Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Dresden, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Stuttgart are taking part. What connects them is their enthusiasm for mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology - and the question of what their own path into the world of work could look like.

Shaping your own path with confidence

The kick-off on September 22 focuses on “Personality & Career” together with RWTH Aachen University. Participants will take a closer look at their own strengths, goals and development opportunities. Especially at the beginning of working life, there are many possibilities - and sometimes just as many questions: What am I particularly good at? Which goals do I want to achieve? And what kind of environment is right for me?

Femtec School gives participants the opportunity to explore these questions together. Through exchange with other students, new perspectives emerge, experiences are shared and connections are made that can reach far beyond the two event days.

Role models, visibility and applications

A varied program also awaits participants on the second day. Topics include leadership and role models, motivation, unconscious bias, visibility in professional life and applications. The program is complemented by impulses and personal conversations with role models from academia and business.

The partner companies Procter & Gamble, EnBW, Daimler Truck, Deutsche Telekom, ABB and the Fraunhofer Institute contribute their expertise to the School. This gives students insights into different industries, career paths and working environments - and helps them discover which impulses they would like to take with them for their own career start.

STEM connects

This is exactly what Femtec is all about: bringing together students from different STEM disciplines and universities, and enabling exchange with academia and business. The first School of the new cohort brings this idea to life. It shows how valuable networks can be when questions are welcome, knowledge is shared and young women are empowered to actively shape their professional future.
